Notes - Notes ex David Larsen 18 Feb 2007:
Ole Larsen was born on the 8th of May 1850 in Eidskog, Hedmark, Norway. His parents were Lars Torstensen and Kristine Hansdatter (Source:IGI).
He appears on the 1865 Norwegian census (1865-telling for 0420 Eidskog) aged 15 and residing in his fathers household in Eidskog.
The name of the farm was Løfnæset.
Ole also appears on the Eidskog genealogy site.
Ole Larsen (Løvneset)) was the son of Lars Torstensen (Havsjømoen) and Kristine Hansdatter (Vestavig) (http://www.eidskogslekt.no/hele/p872.htm#i43562 <http://www.eidskogslekt.no/hele/p872.htm>). Note the slight difference in the spelling of the farm name.
Ole Laresn (Levnæs) is listed as a passenger on the Hovdings 1872 voyage as a single man. His occupation was a farm labourer from Vinger and also from Interior Eidskogen.
He was listed as being 22 years old which fits with his birth date. It appears that the farm name has been incorrectly spelt (Levnæs versus Løfnæset).
Ole married Josephine Petersen on 4th July 1881 in the house of John Petersen in Makaretu (marriage certificate 1881/1849). She died 4th July 1882.
He married Nicoline Olsen (17) in 1883 in the Lutheren church, Makaretu (marriage certificate 1883/1141).
Nicoline was a passenger on the 1883 Hovding voyage.
Both marriage certificates name Lars Torstensen and Christine Hansdatter/Hansen as Ole's parents.
Ole appears on the electoral role in 1890 as a settler at Makaretu (# 1258); as a labourer in Norsewood in 1900 (#2156).
He does not appear on the Waipawa role in 1911 and 1914 but is registered as an old age pensioner, Norsewood in 1919.
Ole died, aged 73, on the 16th February 1919 of senile decay and chronic bronchitis (Death certificate:1919/315).
