MRS. WILDBORE'S DEATH.
TRAGIC PASSING AT TAONUI
The many friends of the Wildbore family throughout this district will regret to learn that Mrs. E. Wildbore, sen., met with a tragic death at her home at Taonui yesterday afternoon. As Mesdames Watson and Brunett were passing, they saw smoke coming from the house. They discovered the old lady lying on the path outside, with all her clothes burned off her body. It is surmised that the oilstove in the kitchen set fire to Mrs. Wildbore's clothes. Mesdames Watson and Brunett are to be commended for prompt action in saving the house from being destroyed, as they put out the incipient flames.

A TRAGEDY AT TAONUI
Taonui, near Feilding, was the scene of a tragedy a few days ago. An elderly woman, Mrs. Wildbore, 83 years of age, who lived with her son, was sitting before the fire, when her clothes became ignited. In a few moments she was enveloped in flames, and ran outside, but fell and died. Her son was away at work at the time of the unfortunate occurrence. Two ladies, who happened to be passing, saved the house, but were too late to be of any assistance to Mrs Wildbore.
A memorial service was held at Feilding Salvation Army Barracks. Adjutant Lane, from Palmerston, was present.
